ABUNDANCE OF RESOURCES: Helps Create, Forgives Waste

It is a situation when a group or an individual has much more resources than they need to spend on work. Large groups (society or a corporation) can solve many problems and get away with many inefficiencies due to the abundant resources the group can adequately employ in the deficient spots.

Although abundance often leads to perpetual projects and resource squandering, it is necessary for innovativeness. Usually, you do not know how many resources you will need when doing new things; thus, having plenty gives you more freedom to explore and experiment. This freedom is much needed to achieve endpoints.

Opposite to abundance is the sustenance problem. When you have the bare minimum to support yourself, you will unlikely risk this bare minimum and try anything new. It will always be “a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush.” Thus, you might spend all your life at the bottom, trying to “live within your means.”
